Work With Me
If you own an X2D II and Phocus has made you wonder whether you're leaving image quality on the table, you're probably right.
I'm a photographer first. The X2D II is my primary camera, and I'm out shooting with it most weeks. I also happen to have 30 years in tech, including a long stretch building infrastructure at Meta, and that background turned out to be useful when I started trying to understand what Hasselblad's software actually does under the hood. An engineer who shoots, in other words.
I wrote the Phocus 4.x guide because Hasselblad didn't. I've filed 19 documented bugs with their engineering team, several reproduced and confirmed. This site exists because there's a gap between what Hasselblad builds and what they document, and someone needed to fill it.
If you're stuck on something specific, I take a limited number of paid engagements each month.
Hasselblad Bug Report Template
$15. The structured template I use for my own Hasselblad bug reports, built from 19 reports filed with engineering since November 2025. Fillable sections for environment, reproduction steps, expected vs actual behavior, evidence, and impact. Includes a guide on evidence collection (ExifTool commands, Phocus log locations, sidecar diffs) and framing advice that gets reports escalated instead of filed away.
What you receive: a 2-page PDF with the template and a companion guide. Works for any Hasselblad product (Phocus for Mac, Phocus Mobile 2, X2D II firmware, camera hardware). Fill it in and send.
Not a fit if you want someone else to write and file the report for you. For that, book a consulting hour below.
Hasselblad Workflow Consulting
$195 per hour, prepaid. One price, whatever the question: Phocus setup and processing, HNCS and HDR output, RAW file behavior and sidecars, the Capture One or Lightroom hybrid workflow, backup and storage for medium-format files, or a bug you can't pin down.
Send the details through the form below. If I can help, you get a payment link; once it's paid, I get to work. Most questions resolve in a single hour, delivered as a written answer with the reasoning, not just the fix. If it needs more than an hour, I'll say so before you commit, not after.
Prefer to skip the form? Book a slot directly: savvycal.com/konradmichels/meet.
Good fit if you're stuck on something specific and want it looked at by someone who has tested this software down to the sidecar level.
Not a fit if the issue lives in Capture One, Lightroom, or a third-party plugin rather than the Hasselblad side of the pipeline.
How It Works
1. Fill out the form below: what you're working on, what's not working, what you've already tried.
2. I reply within 48 hours. If I can help, I'll send a prepaid payment link. If not, I'll tell you why and point you somewhere better.
3. Work is delivered async as a written answer. If you'd rather walk through it live, the hour can be a call instead - same rate, no surcharge.
