Hasselblad released Phocus Mobile 2 v4.0.0 today, and unlike recent desktop releases, this one actually got a proper announcement on social media.

New Mask Tool for Local Adjustments

The headline feature is a new Mask Tool supporting brush, linear, and radial masks. This brings local adjustments to the mobile app for the first time, letting you make precise lighting and detail corrections on specific areas of your image rather than global adjustments only.

For photographers who've been doing initial culling and light edits on iPad before moving to the desktop, this is a meaningful upgrade.

Other Updates in v4.0.0

  • New Year Frame: Festive frame overlays (seasonal feature)
  • Optimized Editing Interface: UI improvements for smoother operation

The update weighs in at 396.1 MB and requires iOS/iPadOS - check the App Store for specific version requirements.
